I DISK DRIVE SEALS FILTRATION SOLUTIONS Disk Drive Vapor barrier material such as aluminum foil or matalized polyester with a pressure sensitive adhesive for sealing access ports and seams in the drive. The seal system is designed to minimize the diffusion of harmful gases and particles into the disk drive. Donaldson seals secure the drive opening so that air is channeled through breather filters, also provided by Donaldson. Both are essential components of an effective disk drive contamination control strategy. The seal is most often attached to the outside of the drive on the cover or base, though it can be installed on the inside if needed. It is designed to close off any openings in the drive where contamination can enter, as well as to help maintain the overall internal pressure of the drive by preventing too much air from escaping.
