DESCRIPTION ROTOSHIELD is a high performance polymer coating designed to yield multiple releases when used in the rotational molding process. This semi-permanent coating, when properly applied, will not build up on the tool surface and will not transfer or otherwise interfere with secondary bonding or painting. ROTOSHIELD is a 100% solvent-free, completely NON-VOC formulation that exceeds the most demanding environmental requirements and when combined with our water-based cleaner, WATERCLEAN , and optional water-based conditioner SEALBRITE, provides a 100% Non-Hazardous release system for the rotational molding industry. SURFACE PREPARATION Before applying ROTOSHIELD , all previous waxes and oils should be removed using WATERCLEAN. * NOTE: If tool surface is currently coated with a semi-permanent release agent, it may be possible to simply solvent wipe the tool, dry, and apply ROTOSHIELD - Conduct a test patch to confirm this option. Thoroughly cleaning the tool and applying the Zyvax system alone will provide best results. * NOTE: The use of a Zyvax mold conditioner may improve the performance of ROTOSHIELD . MOLD CLEANING WATERCLEAN has been developed to replace traditional solvent-based cleaning solutions with a NON-HAZARDOUS alternative for removing surface contaminants that will not harm the working surface of the mold or part. ZYVAX RECOMMENDS USING WATERCLEAN with a cloth or, in extreme situations, with an abrasive pad then simply rinse with water. When rinsing, watch for sheeting of the water (water-break free surface) as an indication that the surface is clean. Wipe off excess water and begin application of WATERCLEAN WHEN PREPARING THE MOLD SURFACE FOR THE APPLICATION OF ZYVAX CONDITIONERS AND RELEASE PRODUCTS. Apply ROTOSHIELD . MOLD/TOOL CONDITIONING (OPTIONAL) SEALBRITE is a tool surface conditioner developed to treat both the chemical and physical bonding sites found on every “raw” tool. SEALBRITE is recommended to improve the tool surface, eliminate porosity, and provide the base needed to extend the life of the release coating for optimal results. SEALBRITE is a
