The SMC 180 series is the upper-size range of the compre­hensive line of reciprocating compressors available from YORK Refrigeration - all designed for heavy-duty industrial, offshore and marine applications. These compressors have a proven ability to work year after year under the toughest conditions, resulting in thousands of satisfied customers all over the world.

The SMC 180 series includes two different sizes providing a displacement of 1283 or 1710 m³/h at the maximum speed of 1000 rpm and with guaranteed ratings for almost all refrigerants, high stage or booster duty. In larger industrial refrigeration installations the SMC 180 series compressors are a simple and economical alternative to screw com­pressors.

The first SMC 180 compressors were introduced in 1959. All subsequent design improvements are compatible with earlier compressor models, a feature that ensures that older compressors can always be upgraded to the latest design.

This process of continuous research and development has resulted in a reliable, safe and well-proven product, which is superior to any other reciprocating compressor in the market.
