The Lite Tracker is a flashing visualindicator used to highlight the position of personnel or hazards in explosive atmospheres. It is a small, lightweight device that uses two primary cells to power ultra-bright light emitting diodes in a flashing strobe effect, cutting through darkness and smoke filled environments. Through the use of a diffusing lens the Lite Tracker emits light in all directions.Approval to the ATEX Directive94/9/EC for “Electrical equipmentfor potentially explosiveatmospheres” using the “ia” intrinsicsafety concept means the LiteTracker can be used in zone 0, 1 or 2 explosive gases, vapours or mistswhere temperature class permits.The Lite Tracker is CE marked withthe notified body reference 1180relating to Baseefa(2001).The Lite Tracker is powered by twoAAA size primary cells. LR03 highenergy alkaline manganese cells arepermitted by the approval and willpower the Lite Tracker for up to 30 or 50 hours at full brightness, afterwhich time the light output willbegin to drop slowly. Light is generated by two or threeultra-bright light emitting diodesdiffused by a light multiplying prismatic material within theenclosure, thus illuminating theentire body area. At night-time, withclear visibility, the Lite Tracker canbe seen from distances of one kilometre or greater. The Light Tracker is supplied asstandard in amber, red or blue, but green and white are also available to special order. The electronic circuit and cells are housed in a two part clearpolycarbonate body, sealed to prevent the ingress of dirt andmoisture. The standard certified LT-102, LT-103 and LT-105 LiteTracker models are sealed to IP67providing protection even for shortperiods immersed in water. Otherfully waterproof models are protected to IP68 for use under water. Theswitches of all Lite Tracker models listed are push button activated, butthe LT-104 is water activated and therefore more suited to use in marine and offshore applications, and can easily be clipped onto life jackets or survival suits.The Lite Tracker is attached topersonnel by means of a steel “grip clip”, which will attach to thick clothing or webbing, and a “D” ring for more secure fasteningto a lanyard.Every Lite Tracker is suppliedcomplete with cells andinstructions.
