A free-standing, BASEEFAapproved Inspection Floodlampfor use in zones 1 and 2hazardous areas, the FLX iscommonly used for illumination in confined spaces for the performance of comparativelylong duration work tasks. It is ideally suited for use in areas where no power source of any type is available but where a good level of illuminationis essential. The 6 volt, 18 watt bulb isprotected by both an inner andouter lens, a crazed effect givesdiffused illumination creating a40°wide angle spread of lightwith a focussed 8°beam centre. Power is provided by tworechargeable Sealed Lead AcidBatteries housed in a powderpaint coated stainless steel boxwith the passivated steel lamphead mounted above. A carryinghandle across the top gives ease of portability.Charging is via a 230V inputmains charger. When fullycharged the FLX Inspection Floodlamp will give continuousoutput for up to 6 hours andrecharges in 12-14 hours.One of the key benefits of thisproduct is that it is fully portableand does not have the restrictions of being connected to a power supply, but gives thelevel of illumination normallyassociated with larger, morepermanent light fittings. Recharging of the battery must be carried out in the non-hazardous area. The rechargingsocket is situated in the batterycompartment of the lid whichmust therefore be open at such times, ensuring good ventilationduring charging. Spare parts are available and maintenancecan be carried out by any competent technician. Applications of use are in tankcleaning, the repair of sewers andunderground services, in gastransmission plants, on offshore platforms, in pump rooms oftankers and for emergencyservices.Each lamp is supplied withoperation and maintenanceinstructions.
