CoolingTowers “EAW”series

The

“EAW”

series is designed for laboratories with CFR engines and replaces the traditional ice-tower in the ASTM tests for the prominence of the numbers of octane.Cooling and dehumidification of engine inlet air, after filtration, with limits of absolute humidity prescribed by the standard (3, 6-7, 2 g/kg), that is difficult to reach with other systems.Cooling of mixture of water and ethylene glycol for sending, through quick-joint inserts, to carburettors, if the cooling of them are requested (ASTM a3.13).

Working principles:

an hermetic air cooled refrigerator group ensures the cooling of the notcongealable liquid collected in the accumulation tank. From here the liquid is taken and, through a pump, is sent to the heat exchanger and then, if provided, to carburettors through quick-joint inserts, otherwise will return, through a valve, to the accumulation tank, ready to repeat the cycle.

A digital thermostat

with microprocessor allows the control of the temperature of the not- congealable liquid, determining the dew point for the inlet engine air that, flowing through the cold surface of the heat exchanger, loses excess of moisture.

The High-Low power supply protection systems

control the voltage and high-low input current shall ensure the duration of our unit in the time in highly dynamic environments.

Fitted with a series of visual and intuitive alarms

for too high or too low he temperature, for fluid level and for pressure and flow control.

THE MAIN CUSTOMERS OF THE “EAW” SERIES ARE:

• The high COP reduces directly the energy necessary for the operation and therefore, indirectly, the emissions that are required to its production.• In compliance with the directives of the “Protocol of London”, our EAW cooling towers are equipped with cooling groups working with HCFCs 22 with ozone potential depletion = 0,05 ODP.• They effectively replace the use of the ice-towers, removing all the problems of supply and storage that they require.
