WESMAN

FOUNDRY EQUIPMENT DIVISION

TILTING FURNACE

WESMAN CENTRAL AXIS CRUCIBLE TILTING FURNACES are supplied as complete refractory-lined packages with blower, burner and crucible. The durable body is constructed from thick reinforced steel plates and supported on a stand by trunnions which move on anti-friction bearings. A graphite crucible and stand are also provided, along with a graphite muffle ring and cover for the top of the crucible.

A side-mounted tilting gear arrangement with a large hand wheel allows easy manual operation (a motorized drive system with inching facility is optional).

The furnace is fitted with a Wesman Schieldrop self-proportioning oil burner (LPG or natural gas firing is available as an option). Preheated oil at constant temperature and pressure is supplied by a Wesman heating and pumping unit. Combustion air is provided by a Wesman centrifugal blower.

The burner fires tangentially inside the shell lining into a circular combustion space so that the hot gases surround the crucible, ensuring uniform heating. Waste gases pass out through openings at the top of the furnace, and may be collected in an optional fume extraction unit for discharge outside the production area.
