The acquisition of German Steintek
GmbH by the WENZEL Group GmbH
& Co. KG, Wiesthal (Germany) that
was already announced at Control
exhibition (Stuttgart) in May has now
been successfully concluded. The
contract for the 100% acquisition of
Steintek were signed on 31 July 2009
in Wiesthal. Steintek will operate
as an independent company inside
WENZEL Group under the new name
WENZEL ScanTec GmbH.
Steintek GmbH is one of the technology
leaders for high speed measuringand
digitizing-systems. The technology
is based on a white light distance
sensor technology that is adapted for
all types of surfaces and customized
for the application areas in production.
The systems detect and analyze
even lowest defects and assure a fast
feedback with fully customisable reports.
The systems are mainly applied
in measuring of complex parts e.g.
turbine blades, blisk and impellers.
By the integration into WENZEL
Group, ScanTec GmbH is able to
use the available capacity for development
and the global distribution
network of the WENZEL Group. Klaus
Mühlberger, Managing Director of
ScanTec GmbH, will continue in his
position. Mr Mühlberger said: “Now
we have the opportunity to attain above
average growth with our unique
technology.” There are no changes
for existing customers.

New WENZEL Company in Russia
Since September 2009 the new
subsidiary from WENZEL in Russia
has been started. Russia is a very
interesting market for WENZEL. A
great deal of CMMs from WENZEL
!"# $!" %&# '()* $$"%# *# +',+# -!./#$"#
companies in the Russian automotive
industry. In 2009 the indicators
for the Russian Market pointed to
growth, even if slower compared to
the years before. The team members
are very experienced in metrology
solutions. The new subsidiary is located
in Moscow, the political, cultural
and economical Centrum of Russia.

GmbH & Co. KG has been awarded
from the Bavarian State Government
with the ‘Bayerns Best 50’. The award
ceremony took place in the Emperor’s
hall at the Munich Residence on 1
July 2009. Martin Zeil, Bavarian minister
for the economy, infrastructure,
transport and technology, paid tribute
to WENZEL as one of 50 outstanding
Bavarian companies, which have
achieved above-average employee

years. The award acknowledges the
entrepreneurial success of companies.
This award and the compliments
made signify to us that we are moving
in the right direction. It provides
a motivational platform for the future,
and for WENZEL to hold on to

products to the market and present
these at trade fairs worldwide.
