NOTE: If you will be using any of the following style
flanges:
· Victaulic brand style 741 or similar “grooved to
flange”
· Vanstone
· Stud End
· Slip Flanges
· Rubber Faced Expansion Joints
· Rubber Lined Flanges,
please be sure to insert an Isogate Load Distribution
Ring between the pipe face and the rubber face of
the Isogate Knife Gate Valve. This will prevent your
pipe from driving the liner sleeves together, thus
enabling the valve gate to operate trouble-free as
designed.
When the Isogate WS Series Knife Gate Valve is
installed with pipe flanges of the following or similar
configurations, a Load Distribution Ring (LDR) must
be installed between the pipe flanges and the valve.
A gasket is required between LDR and metallic or
non-rubber coated pipe flanges.

with Raised Faced Flange with ANSI Adaptor
Failure to use the LDR when required will result in
either over compression or under compression of
the sleeve. Both conditions may lead to premature
failure of the valve and void the warranty.
The LDR provides a safety net to cover a variety of
fit-up situations that often occur.
The use of flat faced metal flanges welded flush
and square will eliminate the need for load
distribution rings.
Consult the factory or your local Weir Minerals
Representative with questions concerning your
particular installation.
