Weber’s Model 5100 Twin-Tamp labelprinter-applicator combines a high-perfor-mance thermal/thermal-transfer label printerwith a specially configured applicator to sat- isfy the printing and two-label, adjacent-panelapplication of carton labels in line.Designed, engineered and built exclusivelyby Weber, the Twin-Tamp system is availablewith a choice of print engines, including 203-or 300-dpi units from manufacturers like Ze- bra, Sato and Datamax. Label sizes range from2.0" wide and 1.0" long to 6.0" wide and 4.0"long. Each system can produce variable-sized text, bar codes and graphic images at speedsprogrammable up to 12.0" per second.After a label is printed, it is automaticallypeeled from its liner and retained by vacuumon a non-contact, tamp-blow applicator pad.The tamp pad is mounted on a 90-degree ro- tary swing arm that reaches across a conveyorand blows the label to the front panel of themoving carton. Upon its return, a second la- bel is printed and a separate straight-linestroke applies that label to the side of the car-ton to complete the cycle. Ruggedly constructed for use in a wide vari-ety of industrial environments, the Twin-Tampcan handle harsh conditions and long, continuous dutycycles. Each unit is equippedwith a strobe light for vari- ous label and printer ribbonalerts, as well as outputs foreasy connection to an exter- nal PLC and Weber’sLegiLink hand-held operatorinterface device.Weber also took thehassle out of routine main-tenance. The system is pro- grammed with built-in ma-chine cycle diagnostics forself-testing of normal oper- ating cycles, plus input di-agnostics that permit test-ing on specific functions.The Twin-Tamp operateswith Weber's proprietaryPrint-Apply labeling soft- ware, which simplifies labelformatting, editing andprinting. Weber also offers a wide variety of pressure-sensitive custom labels and compat-ible thermal-transfer ribbons to meet virtuallyany labeling requirement. ± 0.03” Weber
