Product Description: Ultra Electronics Measurement Systems Inc introduces its latest development, a state-of-the-art, fully submersible trackball - the MAGTRACK.

MAGTRACK (US patent No. 10/267,062), is a Positioning Indicating Device for Harsh Environments that is very different from current trackballs because it uses magneto resistive sensors, encapsulated magnets and electronics in place of encoders. In addition, since there are no foam drive units, wear is not a problem.

MAGTRACK's non-contact sensors - which measure magnetic fields for positioning - and the unit's PCB boards are fully encapsulated in a waterproof resin. This gives MAGTRACK the ability to be completely submersible. As the first fully submersible trackball, MAGTRACK can be used in military applications, such as amphibious vehicles and naval vessels, that are exposed to wet environments. MAGTRACK offers benefits in commercial or industrial applications where fluids like coffee, cleaners or other types of liquids can infiltrate existing electronic controls. In medical applications like ultrasound tests where the gel/lubricant can make typical trackballs inoperable or faulty, MAGTRACK's patented approach features a "throw away" compartment that allows the trackball to be easily replaced.
