In this special edition of our newsletter we focus on our revolutionary new positioning technology and product generation, u-blox5.

u-blox' fifth generation is a breakthrough product that has redefined the boundaries of GPS perfor­mance. It offers acquisition times of under one second and -160 dBm sensitivity, but requires less than 50 mW of power to function and less than 100 mm² of space. That power combined with energy and space efficiency means that u-blox5 has opened the door to an entire new generation of GPS-enabled products, particularly in the rapidly expan­ding handheld market.

We envision its use in cell phones, PDAs, personal navigation devices, watches, media players, cameras and any other battery-operated handheld device.

This technology generation also represents an extra­ordinary moment in our history: u-blox' coming of age. Leaving behind previous collaborations and joint developments, u-blox5 has been entirely deve­loped by u-blox' cutting-edge software and hard­ware engineers.
