Product Information •Tyco Electronics’ GelGuard gel sealing technology provides superior sealing performance in environmentally demanding terminal applications. • Factory-tested, field-proven systems provide reliable, sealed connections with intuitive, easy-to-install, craft-friendly modules.•Clear materials allow visual inspection of electrical connections. •Gel-protected test ports in the top of each module facilitate fast, easy testing with standard test clips.• Special circuit markers are available for easy identification of special lines.• An audible click indicates when the driver isproperly raised for wire insertion.•A single bolt terminates each pair into a driver module through which the connection is visible. • A single drop wire port further simplifies installation by eliminating the chance of placing the drop wire in the wrong port.•DTerminator 2 terminal blocks and plastic housing are ULlisted. Protected and unprotected blocks of the same pair count are the same size, leaving plenty of room to store wirework in the compact housings.•DTerminator 2 SMT/SMX/SMP terminal products should be installed in outside plant only.•DTerminator 2 terminal products are available in an upgradable design, allowing for protection to be added when needed, saving unnecessary initial cost.•DTerminator 2 terminal products are compliant with Telcordia specification TR-NWT-000975 and TR-NWT-001305.

Tyco Electronics’ unique IIDC (invertedinsulation displacement industrial connector) accommodates 1.02-.51mm (18 - 24AWG) subscriber wires without stripping the insulationor using special tools. Wires can be connectedand disconnected many times, even after pro- longed exposure to extreme temperatures. The DTerminator 2 SMT terminal is recommended for use on aerial cable (including self-supporting aerial cable). The housing features a swing-up door, facilitating drop wire installation. The DTerminator 2 SMX upgradable terminalblock includes a grounding strip. Although it is an unprotected model, the SMX terminal can be easily upgraded in the field by replacing modules with protected driver modules, creating a protected unit when needed. The DTerminator 2 SMP protected terminalblock contains driver modules with factory- sealed circuit protectors. Each pair is protectedby a three element gas discharge tube.
