Tyco Electronics’ unique IIDC (invertedinsulation displacement industrial connector) accommodates 1.02-.51mm (18 - 24AWG) subscriber wires without stripping the insulationor using special tools. Wires can be connectedand disconnected many times, even after pro- longed exposure to extreme temperatures.The DTerminator 2 SMT terminal is recommended for use on aerial cable (including self-supporting aerial cable). The housing features a swing-up door, facilitating drop wire installation.The DTerminator 2 SMX upgradable terminalblock includes a grounding strip. Although it is an unprotected model, the SMX terminal can be easily upgraded in the field by replacing modules with protected driver modules, creating a protected unit when needed.
