The new CM series from TRM are stand alone motion controllers with full PLC capabilities for up to 4 axes of servo control or stepper control. Applications can be programmed in TRM's MAP (Motion Application Programme) or 'C' language to give great flexibility for programmers. The processor that was chosen to switch. The controllers on board flash EPROM is used to store permanent data such as TRM's proprietary operating system and 3rd party programs etc. The Flash has an endurance of more than 100,000 programming cycles and an advanced system is employed to ensure the correct programming and security of the Flash. drive the new range of controls is the powerful Coldfire processor from Freescale (Motorola), capable of processing at 140mips. The PMCx has onboard I/O incorporating opto-isolated digital inputs, high side outputs, configurable I/O analog I/O and a HMI included with a colour graphic LCD screen of 320 x 240 pixels it Operating parameters, and other operator programmable information, where required are stored in battery backed Static RAM.The communication ports available on the PMCx series are RS232, RS485, USB On-The-Go , Ethernet 10/100 and CAN Interface give the controller excellent connectivity capabilities, allowing it to be connected to PLC's, computers or allows you to use the unit for a full machine control without need of using an additional PLC or HMI, besides saving time and money on development and external hardware it will give you excellent reliability. Unused encoder inputs can be reconfigured as general inputs, for instance the Z input is not frequently used giving 4 more digital inputs. The controller's own LCD display can display graphics, characters, borders, both large and small text and pull-down menus. It is Cold Cathode Fluorescent (CCFL) backlit which has a long lifetime . The tactile Keypad with user definable keys has been developed after even in a machine network environment.Servo axes are controlled from the industry standard +/- 10 volts, from one up to four channels of DAC and encoder feedback are provided on the PMCx depending on the model. The DAC may be updated at intervals as low as 244ms and has a years of experience in arduous environments to provide minimal EMC interference, to be rugged and also reliable. The keypad uses key-switches to provide a tactile feel and an aluminum front plate that stops the operator from pushing the switch too hard and leads to a longer life for the key- resolution of 16 bits. This can used as 15 bits in each direction.
