The Value of Solution Selling
"I needed a little drive wheel attached to the pump shaft which comes in contact with the tire on the spreader, so that the weed control pump sprays properly. I told Torque Transmission what I needed and they delivered it for me at a reasonable cost. "
Tom Jesson ,
Lead
Engineer,
PermaGreen
Supreme
The Problem
PermaGreen Supreme, a Valparaiso, Ind. based manufacturer of professional lawn and turf care equipment, was designing a fertilizer spreader with rubber tires and a mechanically actuated, weed control pump. However, the only pumps readily available were electric. As electricity and fertilizer don't get along very well, the company had pumps built without the electrical components.
The pumps were to be driven by a drive wheel in contact with one of the rubber tires. The problem was finding a tire small enough to accommodate the design, while adequately rotating the pump to apply the proper amount of weed killer.
The Solution
Torque Transmission custom designed a pulley with an O-ring affixed. The combination of Torque Transmission's companion PO3 Pulley and O-ring gave Permagreen the lightweight, compact and totally functional spray situation they sought.
