Optical Systems Wollaston prisms offer the widest deviation angle of beam displacing polarizers.Both output beams are deviated symmetrically to within 1°.Since the output deviations are chromatic (see plot below), Wollaston prisms havebeen used in spectrometers as well as polarization analyzers.The Wollaston prism polarizer is made of two calcite prisms cemented together.Thorlabs Wollaston prisms are supplied in a rugged anodized aluminum housing.

Glan Thompson Polarizer

The Glan Thompson calcite polarizers offer the widest field of view of the calcitepolarizers while maintaining a high extinction ratio. The polarizer consists of two cemented prisms made from the highest optical grade calcite. The operating spectral range is 350nm to 23µm.The Glan Thompson polarizers are available unmounted as well as mounted in ananodized aluminum housing.Note: As with all Glan Thompson polarizers, the maximum optical intensity islimited by the cemented prism interface. For high power applications, Thorlabs offers Glan Laser polarizers.
