Introduction to Workstations
Selecting a Workstation
A complete workstation is comprised of a workstation frame and breadboard. To select a workstation, choose the required isolation and load parameters from the table below, then go to the individual page to select the height and size. Select the appropriate breadboard found in the Breadboard Section on pages 15-27.

Isolation Options
Thorlabs offers three isolation options for your workstation.
■ Rigid, nonisolating
workstation frames, when vibration is not a consideration.
■ Pump & Go™
workstation frames, manually leveled air mounts for general applications.
■ SuperDamp™ self-leveling workstation frames for the ultimate isolation.
These support structures are designed to offer breadboard and small table support at a reduced cost where the functionality of the ScienceDesk™ is not required.
They are available with a choice of active, passive, or rigid isolation supports to meet specific needs and budget requirements. The basic workstation configuration includes a breadboard working surface and a support system. The working height is nominally 790mm (31") for 60mm (2.4") thick tops, and 840mm (33") for 110mm (4.3") thick tops. The frame utilizes a welded frame that is shipped fully assembled. It is rigid and provides a firm, stable work surface. The frame is finished with a high-durability, matte black polyurethane paint. All workstations are provided with a set of four leveling feet. Each leveling foot is threaded to enable fine height adjustment and accurate alignment. This eliminates the possibility of impaired isolation performance due to non-level floors. The leveling feet incorporate a lock nut to ensure the adjustment is fixed. Casters (optional) are located beneath each leg to allow for easy movement of the workstation. See page 34 for details.
