â–  Extensive Line ofAccessories The RollerBlock™ XYZ translation stagefeatures cross roller bearing assemblies which ensure low stiction for true sub-micronresolution. An adjustable preload virtuallyeliminates all unwanted side play. The combination steel and aluminum constructionof the RollerBlock™ translator is ideally suited for a broad range of photonics applications. The crossed roller bearing design provides a vertical load capacity of 4.4kg (9.7 lbs) while maintaining the sub-micron resolution provided by the high precision actuators. The integrated x-y-z design, compared with other modular approaches, provides a more compact stage which enables this three axis translator to meet the performance demands of many positioning applications, over the entire 13mm translation range. Compared to translation stages constructed from stacking single axis stages, the unibody approach, with steel construction, provides improved product lifetime as well asenhanced thermal stability. The moveable deck has a full 13mm of travel inthree orthogonal directions, and includes mounting features that allow our full line of optical mounting accessories (see page 284) to be directly attached to its surface. The deck height of this compact stagematches the 62.5mm deck height of our flexurebased translation stages featured on page 266. Utilizing this standard deck height allows this longer travel stage to be incorporated into complexoptical systems built around our popular flexurebased stages that populate our MicroBlock™ and our NanoMax™ series. One simple example of this cross-series compatibility is shown in the photograph on the bottom of the next page.
