| | | MODELS SAC1000 AND SAC2000 PAY OFF SWIFTS These motorised pay off swifts are fully automatic and are designed to pay off wire with minimum drag into a variety of straightening, cutting and forming machines. They are particularly suitable for use with equipment where consistency of length has to be maintained and where it is more economical to use wire on a wire former. The swift consists of a fabricated base which houses an A.C. motor and gearbox. The gearbox which is mounted directly onto the drive shaft is driven from the motor through a Industrial v belt drive and flange bearings are fitted at the top and bottom of the base which support the main drive shaft, a thrust race locates under the turntable and is designed to ensure an even distribution of weight and guarantees stability in operation. The speed control of the motor is through an invertor mounted within the body of the swift, and when the driven machine is started, the tension of the wire pulls the spring and a limit switch is fitted which operates the control unit. The pulley arm is tensioned with a industrial pneumatic cylinder and operates the potentiometer through two reduction gears, and this provides the fine adjustment to the speed of the motor. When the machine is stopped, the swift continues to pay off wire until the spring loaded arm returns to its rest position, and this stops the motor through applying a dynamic brake resistor which provides a controlled deceleration. | | |
