Data Sheet No 046Medium Duty Pharmaceutical (MDP, MDPS & MDPF) Sensor - 28405 Medium Duty Industrial Temperature Sensor PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Medium Duty Industrial Temperature SensorMany areas of process plant demand temperature sensors with a con-struction to meet both the demands of the process and the installation environment. The sensor sheath is produced from a seamless stainless steel tube up to 12.7mm OD and fitted with a spring loaded sensor insert. The choice of connection head type also allows a specification to be drawn up that will satisfy most requirements.S P E C I F I C A T I O NMECHANICALSheath dimensions : from 6.0mm up to 12.7mm in 316L stainless steel. Process connection : screwed (MDS) or flanged (MDF) dependant on sheath diameter or a sliding compression fitting if required. Alternatively a Tri-clover flange (MDF-T) can be fitted. Connection head : in die-cast aluminium with screw cap, reten- tion chain and M20 cable entry. Cable entry screwed M20. Environmental rating to IP67. For pharmaceutical applica tions an FDA approved connection head in GRP can be fitted or the same design cast in stainless steel. Spring loaded insertELECTRICALSheath : 316 stainless steel, 6mm OD (length to suit thermowell) and fitted with a spring loaded ceramic terminal block. Resistance Thermometer Detector : single or duplex PT100 with 3 wire connec- tion, Class ‘A’ or ‘B’ tolerance and to BS EN 60751:1996. Operating range : -50 to +380°C (-58 to+716°F).Product code : MDThermocouple Element : single, duplex or triplex elements, types ‘T’ (Cu/Con), ‘E’ (NiCr/Con), ‘J’ (Fe/Con) ‘K’ (NiCr/NiAl) or ‘N’ (Nicrosil/Nisil) to BS EN 60584-1:1996. Operating range : -50 to +850°C (-58 to +1562°F), depending on thermocouple type. A temperature transmitter with a 4 to 20mA output can be supplied in place of the connection block for both hazardous and non-hazardous du-ties. Other dimensions and tolerances outside the above specifications also beavailable on application.©Thermal Detection 2007 Thermal Detection Limited Tel +44 (0) 1642 602878 Unit 6, Orde Wingate Way Fax +44 (0) 1642 618307 Primrose Hill Industrial Estate Email tdl@thermal-detection.com Stockton-on-Tees England TS19 0GA Website www.thermal-detection.com |
