Laser can be used on metals (including hardened steel) and plastics, to produce a high quality mark with very little noise. The laser marks alphanumeric text, barcodes, 2Dmachine-readable codes, symbols and logos. With its 5 micron resolution the laser can mark2D codes measuring just 0.3 mm wide, making it suitable for most products includingmedical instruments and electronics parts. SCRIBING

Scribing machines use a hardened pin, incarbide or diamond, to directly mark the surfaceof components. The marking is a smooth, highquality continuous line. Marks therefore benefit from a high qualityappearance and the marking process is quieter(less than 72dB) than Micro-Percussion.

Pneumatic

Rapid indent marking uses a hardenedstylus to indent the surface of the parts. Electromagnetic

The vibrations of the pin are produced by an elec-tromagnet in the stylus housing. This technology gives a very precise impact especially useful for high quality Data Matrix™ codes or 5x7 fontmarking. Marking depth is electronically control-led for a perfect consistency of marking. This typeof marking is very well suited to aerospace parts.
