TEBIS-FARO INTEGRATION - 1

TEBIS-FARO integratio n Integrating the Faro ScanArm technology into Tebis lets you digitize points directly from the CAD environment and scan surfaces. The result? Numerous time-saving analysis options, including variance comparisons, change area identification, material thickness analysis, springback effects and shrinkage effects. The technology link also provides a very practice-friendly and uncomplicated design technology. You can create ruled surfaces on the basis of digitized points and combine them with sculptured surfaces created by reverse engineering from scanned surface areas. This is a costoptimized way to create design models, archive models and duplicates. Change areas, highlighted by manual modifications, are easy to identify. Existing CAD surface models can thus be quickly brought up to date. Repairs and the digitization of casting blank models are also easy with the linked Tebis and Faro technology solution. With its many interfaces and specialized design modules, Tebis is a reliable and highly resilient platform for all surfacerelated design activities. The side panel to which manual changes were made is scanned (Images 1 to 4) and processed into high quality surfaces using the RSC and Optimizer functions (Images 5 to 7). The analysis displays the deviations between the surfaces and the scan. Alignment...

Tebis-Faro integration applications Preparing for milling • For digitizing cast and forged blanks before the first roughing step. • For saving your milling procedures with the available blank. You will be able to see whether the casting blank is big enough and whether any NC programs have to be set to a lower height. Draw die manufacturing: • For checking the manual modifications in the try out. This makes it easier to check whether the correct dimensions are achieved in manual grinding. • For updating the die surfaces after the try out. Useful for electronic archiving, die duplication and...
