RotoVAC - Vacuum Plasma Treater

RotoVAC - Vacuum Plasma Treater

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Tantec RotoVAC plasma treater is designed for the efficient plasma treatment of small injection-molded plastic parts. It eliminates the need for jigs or complex handling systems by utilizing a rotating drum within a vacuum chamber.
Specifications: The RotoVAC operates under a vacuum pressure of 1 to 4 mbar, with treatment cycle times ranging from 20 to 180 seconds, depending on the material. It uses the HV-X series power generator and specially designed plasma transformers to energize the electrodes. The system is compatible with various process gases, although they are often unnecessary due to the high power of the plasma discharge.
Features: The RotoVAC is appreciated for its simplicity, reliability, and speed. It is easy to install and use, offers fast treatment times, and can be customized to fit specific chamber and drum sizes. The system is cost-efficient, improving surface wettability and adhesion without the need for special treatment gases.
Technical Data: The RotoVAC requires a mains voltage of 230 VAC or 480 VAC 3Ph, with a maximum output voltage of 400 Vp and plasma power of 2000 Watts. It requires a compressed air inlet of 5–6 bar and has a vacuum pump capacity ranging from 15 to 240 m³/min. The evacuation time is typically 15-60 seconds, and the plasma treatment time is 20–180 seconds. The system includes a touch panel for process control and complies with CE, RoHs, and WEEE regulations.
Operational Benefits: The rotating drum ensures uniform treatment of all parts, and the system includes an extra drum for continuous operation. The RotoVAC is suitable for both conductive and non-conductive surfaces, making it versatile for various applications.

With the RotoVAC drum design, simply fill the drum and place it in the vacuum chamber. The rotation will ensure that all parts are treated. TECHNICAL DATA Features: Easy to install and use Fast treatment times In the treating chamber a vacuum builds up to between 1 and 4 mbar before an electrical discharge is created through the integrated plasma electrode. Treatment cycle times are often short, between 20-180 seconds depending on the material and its formulation. The RotoVAC plasma treater is appreciated for its simplicity of operation, reliability in production and fast process speed. Treating gasses such as argon and oxygen can be applied, but in most cases this is not necessary due to the high power exposed by the plasma discharge. RotoVAC uses the advanced Tantec power generator HV-X series as power supply, and specially designed plasma transformers to provide voltage to the plasma electrodes. The rotating drum ensures that all parts are equally treated. The concept includes an extra drum which can be loaded during treatment and simply exchanged with the one in use when the batch is completed.
