Electrochemical Sensors Synkera has developed a unique solid-state amperometric sensor for the detection of hydrogen sulfide (H
2 S). These sensors feature a novel, patent pending polymer electrolyte that is unaffected by either low or high humidity levels. With performance that matches or exceeds conventional liquid electrolyte sensors at a competitive cost and small size, these sensors are ideal for portable sensing applications. Carbon monoxide (CO) and alcohol (ethanol) versions of this sensor are currently under development, while additions of other toxic gases (such as nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, chlorine and more) are planned. HeatSENS™ Platform Synkera Technologies has developed and patented a unique, micromachined ceramic sensor platform. Any of the standard MOx gas sensors listed above can be fabricated on this platform resulting in significantly reduced power consumption and high reliability. For more information and sensor availability, please contact Synkera directly Catalytic Sensors Catalytic gas sensors for combustible gas measurement are under development, based upon Synkera’s patented, ceramic micromachined sensor platform. These sensors will feature low power consumption along with high reliability and sensitivity due to the unique nanoscale porosity. Partners for sensor and catalyst development are eagerly sought. Humidity Sensors High performance humidity sensors are also available on the HeatSENS™ platform. These sensors feature high performance at temperature and humidity extremes, including balloon borne atmospheric measurements. The onboard heater offers the possibility of regeneration and advanced operating modes, while the nanoporous architecture offers an extremely high sensing area. These advanced operating modes have the potential to significantly increase sensor performance, including stability and reilability. Prototypes are available; contact Synkera for more information. Advanced MOS sensors ~1200°C Synkera is developing a new generation of metal oxide sensors to take advantage of the ultra-high surface area afforded by the micromachined anodic alumina sensing platform (as much as 1,000 times the surface area of a flat substrate). These sensors will feature not only low power, but also improved sensitivity and selectivity due to the precise control of sensing material features at the nano-scale. Please contact Synkera for more information on this exciting development effort. 700 µm 200µm room T~900C room T sensingelectrodeV I s s Sensing element . Resistiveheater V h |
