technology

W

Developed specifically for cutting soft, long chipping,non-ferrous materials such as Alloyed Aluminium(Siupto5%) and Unalloyed Aluminium to a hardness of 500N/mm2

series

taps

Manufactured from premium grade HSSE-V high speed steel to DIN 371/6 standard, the 3% Vanadium contentprovides high wear resistance and toughness for a variety of tapping applications. Brt (brightfinish/uncoated) is standard on W Series taps and is suitable for machining non-ferrous metals and plastics.Higher flute relief than standard taps, allowing the tap to cutfreely and generating less heatduring tapping. Lower thread relief than standard taps for better gauging in softmaterials.

Blind Hole Tapping:R45 W Spiral Flute Tap

Higher helix than standard taps for better chip transportation. The flute design incorporates positive rake on the flute heel, producing a more effective cutting action on reversal. The 3 flute 45Ëš righthand spiral is specific to this class of material including alloyed aluminiums for efficienttapping up to 3 x D.

Blind Hole Tapping:R45 W-AL Spiral Flute Tap

Higher helix than standard taps for better chip transportation. The flute design incorporates positive rake on the flute heel, producing a more effective cutting action on reversal. The 2 flute 45Ëš righthand spiral is specific to this class of material including unalloyed aluminiums for efficienttapping up to 3 x D.
