taps
Sutton H Series taps are manufactured from a Powder Metallurgy grade of High Speed Steel (PMHSS) which incorporates a much finer grain &
homogeneous structure than conventional HSS,this allows for higher
hardness of the tool, whilstmaintaining toughness. >
TiCNite ® (TiCN) surface coating is standard on H Series taps and offers lowfriction properties which reduces cutting edge temperature, improving thewear resistance of the tap, this combination provides superior tool life and work-piece finish. >
Blind-Hole Tapping:R 15 H Spiral Flute Tap
Lower helix and lower reliefs than standard spiral flute taps strengtheningthe cutting edge, which is bestsuited for harder materials. 3 pitch lead-in lightens the chip load over a standard spiral tap, this eases up the stress on the tap when breaking the chip on reversal atfull depth.
The flute design incorporates positive rake on the flute heel, producing a more effective cutting action on reversal.
The 15Ëš righthand spiral is specific to this class of material for efficient
tapping up to 2 x D. >
Thru-Hole Tapping:H Spiral PointGun Tap
Lower reliefs than standard gun taps strengthening the cutting edge,
which is bestsuited for harder materials.
Capable of efficienttapping up to 2 X D. >
