Sutton Tools' focus has been to manufacture tools that achieve higher speeds and longer tool life than the more conventional products available on the market. To achieve this, the Sutton Tools engineering team focused on three key areas:
1. optimise tool geometries for a given material
2. apply latest developments of high speed steel grades
3. apply latest developments In surface coatings, texture and finish
Through aggressive reinvestment and R & D programs, Sutton Tools now provides product geometries and surface coatings specific to the many sophisticated and varied applications encountered by industry today.
The development of these new geometries is typical of Sutton Tools' market focused, co­operative approach to product development.
The comprehensive range of high performance taps now includes Cobalt and Vanadium based grades of high speed steel(HSS-Co, HSSE-V), as well as the latest developments In Powdered Metallurgy high speed steel (PM-HSS) and Carbide ranges, manufactured to DIN standards, which are complemented by TIN, TiCN, AITIN (multi-layer) and CrN ceramic surface coatings and state of the art Vacuum Heat Treatment.
