Range of application Design and operating principle
The position switches with a safety function are suitable for sliding and hinged guard devices,which mustbe closed in order toguarantee the necessary operational safety.In combination with anappropriate safety control module,all safety switches shown in thischapter achieve Control Category 3 or 4 to EN 954-1.Further applications for positions switches with safety functionare mostvaried positioning duties.The variety of requirements to befound in practice can be metin detail by means of a wide range of ac- tuating elements On the position switches with a safety function,the guard deviceand the positive break NC contactare positively linked.With the safety guard in closed condition,the position switch with safety func-tion is notoperated.Many versions with snap or slow action are available.The positionswitches with a safety function can be fitted in any desired mountingposition.All position switches with safety function shown in this chapterbear the CE mark according to the Machinery Directive 98/37/EC. 2121 on sliding guardsApplicationon hinged guards Actuating angle from below as shown in picture Actuating angle from right of switch axis Actuating angle from left of switch axis with reference tolever position as shown in pictureLegend
