opération
The spring centred spools are linked to take up either of two positions to suit flow dividing or flow combining. They operate on pressure drop through the hollow spools that then shift in tandem to automatically give the required metering of flow to the appropriate ports.
For flow dividing, input flow is fed to port [2] and subsequently divides evenly to exit from ports [1] and [3]. For flow combining, input flows are fed to ports [1] and [3] and subsequently combine to exit from port [2].
