Serious eye injury is possible. • Never use a screwdriver as a pry bar, punch, chisel or can opener, this can cause serious injury. • Never use a screwdriver with a round tip or round edges, the screwdriver could slip and damage the work. • Do not sharpen a screwdriver, as this can reduce the hardness oftheblade. • Never use a screwdriver to check electrical currents. • Never use pliers to get extra turning power from a screwdriver. Never use a screwdriver on a workpiece held in your hand. A slip can cause serious injury. Putitin a clamp or vise. Never use a screwdriver with a broken or split handle. Replace it. Choose a tool with a handle that fits your hand and won'tslip. Though you may have to bear down on the screwdriver to firmly seat its tip in the screw head, remember that screws are driven by torque, or turning power, not by pressure. Always use a properly sized screwdriver tip. A tip that's too narrow can strip the screw head. An overly wide head can damage the work. m m
