The program is built around a 30-minute video - available in DVD or VHS format, and in English or Spanish - that presents the latest information on safe and responsible tool use. The video can be used on its own, or as part of a comprehensive training program. The video's concise and easy-to-follow segments include sockets, wrenches, striking tools, screwdrivers, knives and snips, and specialty tools. Each segment clearly demonstrates how workers can get hurt using common shortcuts (like trying to break a stubborn fastener loose using a wrench or ratchet with a cheater bar), then contrasts them with safe, efficient practices (such as using a striking wrench and penetrating oil). A section on storage and maintenance drives home the importance of keeping tools in top condition, as well as clean and dry. In addition to the video, the program also includes templates that employers can use to announce a company training session, as well as a training quiz and a certificate for employees who complete the program.
