So what makes Stanley® Proto® keys a great choice? Part of the answer is the quality of our steel. The heat-treated,tempered alloythatwe use today is resistantto wear and rotational distortion, and thus long-lasting. Another reason to choose Proto is the breadth of our product line. Our keys come in nearly anytype or package that you could want. These include: in the fastener and use the long blade as a handle. The Ergonomically designed Tee-Handle keytakes the standard L-Handle design and adds a confortable molded grip to the elbow. The grip lets you do repetitive tasks with less hand fatigue. We make our keys in fractional and metric sizes, and in standard reach, long reach, and extra-long reach lengths. The longer lengths offer greater leverage, improved in-line access, and make it easierto applytorque. All keys are made to precise tolerances for a tightfit. Keys can be ordered in various sets, from individual keys arranged in cloth or plastic sleeves, to key-ring orfolding sets. Our folding sets are housed in a tough metal frame with comfortable resin side pieces. The frame can be held in-line with the key and used as a screwdriver, or set at a 90° angle to the key for more leverage. Torxis a trademark ofAcument Intellectual Properties, LLC Standard Hex Keys. These are used with the popular six-point hex socket screw (the mirror image of the head on 6-point bolt), which lets you safely apply more torque than you can with a comparably sized slotted or Phillips® head screw. These fasteners can also be made with a headless design that sits flush with or below the surface when tightened. Round Head Keys. While not as resistantto twisting as solid hex keys, round head keys letyou engage hexfasteners from angles of up to 30 degrees off axis. They're a must-have when something is blocking access to the fastener head. Torx® Keys. These are designed for use with Torx® head fasteners, whose 12-point design can be tightened with even more torque than the standard hexhead. SAFETY TIPS • Always match the tool to the fastener. Using a hex wrench on a socket that is too large may result in to the fastener or the tool. Spline Head Keys. These are for use with spline fasteners, which are becoming ubiquitous in aerospace and military applications. Standard Hex and Torx® keys come in conventional and ergonomic varieties. The conventional L-Handle key has a short and a long blade connected by a 90-degree elbow. The long blade reaches into deep recesses, and makes quickworkof turning a fastener. When you need torque for a stubborn fastener, simply insert the short blade • Pull hex keys toward you. Do not push. Always use safety goggles. Serious eye injury is possible.
