Terminal Boxes
Series 8146
Terminal box fittings
Because of the contact resistances at the terminals and the leads
installed in the enclosure, there is a certain power dissipation in
every terminal box, which causes heating. In order to ensure that
the maximum temperatures of a terminal box are not exceeded,
care should be taken that the current loading of the circuits
installed in the terminal box do not exceed certain values. The
maximum permitted number of conductors for individual terminal
boxes, depending on the current loading and conductor cross
section, can be found in the following tables.
