GPS/RFID Zoned Speed Control - 41146 ZONED SPEED CONTROL - GPS & RFIDThe Speedshield GPS/RFID Zoned Speed Control System is an ad- vanced speed limiting package for forklift fleets and industrial equipment. Rather than providing standard fixed speed limiting for forklifts, Speedshield enables a site to be divided into multi- ple zones, therefore varying the speed limit depending on the safe working speed limit. Each zone is assigned a maximum speed limit. On entering a zone the forklifts maximum speed will be re- stricted accordingly. KEY FEATURESRFID or GPS technology Zoning system allows for complete coverage of large indoor and outdoor sites Limits the forklift to a predefined maximum speed depend- ing on the zone of operation Provides a true and flexible traffic management systemAPPLICATIONSSpeed control forklift fleets by setting up zones throughout the site RFID zoning is ideal for a mix of indoor and outdoor zones, whereas GPS zoning is more suited to large, predominately outdoor sitesSTANDARD FEATURESRFID Speed Zoning (Recommended for indoor operating equipment)RFID Zoning uses Smart Tags to distinguish between different zones. Tags are placed in the ground, usually between doorways. Zones are strategically set up throughout a site to ensure a safe, efficient working speed limit is adhered to in all areas. The maximum speed limit for each zone can be different, depending on the site specified safe operating speed. As the forklift travels between these zones, it reads the speed limit information from the tags in the ground, and automatically changes the maximum speed limit of the forklift.GPS Speed Zoning (Recommended for outdoor operating equipment)GPS Zoning uses GPS tracking to retrieve the position of the forklift, and checks the vehicles current zone of operation. This is achieved by comparing the forklift position to the list of predefined site GPS zones. The zone speed limit is sent to the forklift, and the Speedshield module alters the maximum speed of the forklift. GPS Zoning is suitable for large, mainly outdoor sites. Speedshield incorporates Dead Reckoning which is a redundant system for tracking vehicles when GPS is unable to, such as when they move to an indoor area.
