Measured parameters are level, distance, volume and temperature. Gauger485 supports liquids and solid, closed tanks and open applications. Maximum range for liquids is 8 meters (26’) and for solids is 6 meters (19”). The system exhibits a small dead zone of 15 cm (6”). Volume is reported in Liters (Gallons) for cubical and cylindrical tanks. Main features Output from Gauger485 is serial ASCII strings over RS485 wires. Gauger485 exhibits an integral graphic display and keypad. A cost-effective model without the display and keypad is also available. Sensor material is PVDF – making the system an excellent solution even in the presence of highly aggressive and corrosive chemicals. Input power is 10.8-33 VDC allowing battery based operation with three 3.6V Li cells. A USB port (device side) enables PC configuration, local monitoring and firmware upgrades. Remote monitoring advantages GaugerGSM is a perfect solution for remote monitoring applications where the level meter interfaces an external modem. The use of serial ASCII string output is both simple and much more reliable and accurate than 4-20 analog interfaces. Gauger485 can interface modems and PLC that support or can be programmed to accept ASCII data strings over RS485. When viewed on a PC or laptop, no special viewing software application is required. The data may be viewed by available hyper-terminal applications. Applications Typical application are for monitoring the activity of multiple sites which host Diesel tanks, monitoring waterways such as rivers and canals and general local monitoring of process and storage tanks. When tracking assets such as fuel, Gauger485 can detect theft and provide an alert message over RS485. The system also detects a refueling process and report refueling quantity. Gauger485 is a variant of the Gauger line. The Gauger line also includes GaugerGSM for wireless cellular applications and Gauger420 (under development). For OEM partners, customized options are available including colors, labels and brand logo. The Gauger line is tested to CE standards (safety and EMC) and is ROHS compliant.
