Description
S5-PCLink is a compact Ethernet gateway integrated in a 15-pin
D-sub casing. It can be connected to the intranet or Internet
using hubs and switches. Power is supplied through the PG inter-face of the S5. Optionally, the S5-PCLink may also be poweredvia an external 24V power supply to accommodate devices that
do not provide power via the PG interface like the AG90U/95U.An LED display shows the functional status of the adapter.

The included configuration tool is used to setup the IP addressfor the S5-PCLink. The IP address can be assigned manually or via a DHCP server. After the successful assignment of an IPaddress you can access the S5 controller like any other node on an Ethernet network. The S5-PCLink supports 10/100 MBits/s
with automatic detection. S5-PC Link can be used with the Softing S5/S7 OPC server for visualization and STEP5 for pro-gramming. The offer includes an additional driver for program-
ming with STEP5. The driver provides a virtual COM interfacewhich connectsSTEP5 to the desired S5 PLC via your IP address.
