Inductive Loop Controller Mirror Units Typical applications include industrial conveyor systems where forklift truck manufacturer access is required to load and unload industrial pallets. Control of access doors e.g. warehouse doors for fork lift entry and exit areas for loading and unloading.As a pallet moves down the conveyor andenters the load / unload station. The fork lifttruck passing over the inductive loops provide mute signals to the inductive loop controller which initiates the inductive loop controller’ssafety outputs to provide mute signals for the light curtain. At this point the forklift can interrupt the sensing field of the safety light curtain at the load or unload station without interruption to machine operation.For safety, both inductive loops have timers, which limits the length of time the system remains in a muted state.These timers can be adjusted to suit specific applications. The timer settings would bedeterminedfrom the machine risk assessment.The mute signal outputs from the inductive loop controller are de-activated once the forklift truck clears the inductiveloops. The safety light curtain returns to its normal status reinstating the safety integrity at the load / unload station. Two or three sides of a machine can be safeguarded with a single light curtain by using mirrors to deflect the light curtain’s infra-red beams.The Smartscan mirror system provides a sturdy floor mounting kittogether with an aluminium column for mounting the mirror. The mirror assembly simply slots onto the column and can be adjusted to the height required for the application.The special mounting stand enables the mirror unit to be rotated through 360 degrees while also allowing full adjustment in all axes. Important note - If the forklift truck is within the sensing field of the light curtain and the time frame allowed for the two inductive loops expires, the system will de-activate the mute outputs of the inductive loopcontroller. Hence the light curtain will be re-activated and the system will trip in ‘Fail Industrial safe’ mode. To reset the system the forklift truck must be clear oftheinductive loops. The light curtain can be reset at the local reset station
