Maintenance

9.Mount the retaining ring by insert-ing the rectangular end first. Holding this part down, press in the remainder stepwise with a tool, until the whole retaining ring proper- lycontacts the seal as shown in ( âž” fig ). The seals can be removed from the bearing so that the bearing can be inspected, washed and regreased, after which the seals can be reinserted and secured. To avoid damage to the seals, this work has to be done with care, using suitable, well rounded tools with no sharp edges.1.Remove the retaining ring by insert-inga tool under the recessed end of the retaining ring The seals of SKF spherical roller bear-ings with a bore diameter of 110 mm and above are secured by retaining rings inserted in the outer ring
