1 M is the admissible force the mass to be secured exerts on the
Locking Unit KFHL. The holding (braking) force when delivered from
factory is not less than 2 x M, but will not exceed 3,5 x M.
p is the pressure required for releasing. The permissible working pressure
is 160 bar.
2 Hydraulic operating volume.
3 Proximity switch holders are provided for standard proximity switches
M8x1 shielded and pressure rated to 10 bar with a nominal switching
distance of 1,5mm, length 30,5 mm and fixed cable
( z.B. BES 516 -324 - SA17 - 05......... BALLUFF).
4 Plugged hydraulic port LL alternative to L, also usefull for bleeding.

Technical Data Sheet TI-F52
Locking Unit KFHL Certified by Lloyd’s Register
For detailed functional description refer to„Technical Information TI-F10“.
Furthermore important practical advices are given in the „Operating Manual BA-F52“.
The SITEMA - Locking Unit KFHL clamps a shaft in any position.
It is commonly used on a cylinder rod or an other round
shaft and holds axial forces in both axial directions.
The KFHL builds on the success of the SITEMA - Locking Unit
KFH in a specific way, as it has been developed to satisfy the
particular requirements associated with maritime applications.
Design measures have been adopted to ensure equipment is
able to function safely, even under the difficult conditions experienced,
for example, on the open sea.
For example, the complete clamping system has been thoroughly
adapted, both in terms of the materials used and the
special housing designed to provide protection against any hazards
associated with incoming sea water. Other measures include
the use of special materials for the housing and seals, as
well as the use of special coatings.
SITEMA has placed particular emphasis on ensuring an adequate
safety margin in terms of achievable clamping forces.
As such, the SITEMA - Locking Unit KFHL makes a clear distinction
between „admissible load“ and „holding force“. The admissible
load in kN denotes the actual maximum load that can
be applied to a SITEMA - Locking Unit KFHL. The actual holding
force is twice as high and equates to the margin required
by Lloyd's Register EMEA for the purposes of personal safety.
