9 Application areas Magnetic encoders were developed for wet or humid and heavily soiled operat- ing conditions and where machine vibra- tions make precise operation dicult. These non-contacting measuring encod-ers almost always feel at home even if they are in contact with corrosive solu- tions such as saline water or in heated, oily environments. In the food, packag- ing, energy generation and wood pro- cessing sectors or for passenger trans- port and general mechanical engineering applications, optical measuring systems increasingly reach insurmountable limits due to their basic functional design. For this reason magnetic encoders are predestined for a large number of dier- ent applications … Sheet metal processing with punching â–  and forming equipmentLifting and elevator equipment â–  â–  In oshore plants â–  Packaging and food industries â–  Chemical and pharmaceutical indus- triesEnergy generation (e. g., wind genera- â–  tors)As well as in all applications where â–  precision measurement is required un-der extremely dicult conditions 2 . 2 . 1 2 . 22 . 32 . 4 2 . 5 2 . 6
