Obtaining high electromagnetic field levels at high frequencies, while keeping the cost of instrumentation as low as possible, is one of the major considerations in susceptibility testing. Our years of experience and R&D have enabled us to design unique mode stirred reverberation chambers (MSRC): new solutions dedicated to the measurement of emissions and immunity in high field strengths.
MSRC are test facilities increasingly used for military, aeronautics and automotive applications, as they have the capability to produce strong fields (several hundred or several thousand V/m) that are statistically isotropic and uniform, with very low input power.
Shielded rooms fitted with a mechanical stirrer, the MSRC alter the distribution of the electric field generated by one or more antenna inside their enclosure. In this way, test volumes can be obtained in which the field values measured are statistically uniform, on a full rotation of the stirrer. The stirrer can take the shape of one or more paddles depending on the size of the shielded enclosure, and the shape adjusted to meet the applicable size constraints. It can be used in continuous rotatTon^tirring" .mode) or in step by step rotation ("tuning" mode), depending on the targeted standard and application.
The major advantage of the MSRC is the ability to generate high field strengths by means of affordable incident power. This is not the only possible application, however, since the MSRC can also be used for emission testing (EN61000-4-21 standard).
For over ten years, the major global players in the scientific, industry, automotive, aeronautics and military sectors have chosen SIEPEL for their MSRC facilities.
