Cooling the drive line
STD 619, Air-cooled oil cooler manufacturer.
STD 110, Air-cooled oil cooler. Two and three pass coolers Cooling the transmission The oil normally passes through a duct in the cooler. Ifthe oil is guided to pass through the cooler two tothree times the outer dimensions can be reduced with
retained cooling performance. We call these two andthree pass coolers and they are specially developed forthose applications. For cooling gearbox and final driveyou should choose an STD, TOC, CP, or SLM cooler. In these applications the oil flows are often low. Bychoosing a cooler with fewer tubes we can raise the
velocity of the oil and accordingly increase efficiency.Other important applications are the automaticgearboxes. With a lower oil temperature the viscosityof the oil is increased and consequently the transmis-sion efficiency raises. In some cases the available space for an STD air/oilcooler is insufficient. That’s when you should choose
the TOC cooler using the cooling water of the engine,
our air-cooled SLM cooler or a CP cooler. Other types of cooling In many cases coolers are used also for power steeringand fuel to give maximum performance. In addition, cooling of break callipers and valve springs is appliedin extreme situations. Then our STD cooler is the bestchoice possible. >
