The POSYS® SSI 800/900 is an optional expansion card for the POSYS® 8xx/8xx-B/9xx/18xx/19xx motion drivers. The SSI is small and compact, only 65 x 59 mm and is directly plugged on to the on-board option manufacturers of connector of the POSYS®. The data of the absolute encoders is read thru this normed interface and transmitted to the POSYS® motion controllers. The electronic of the absolute encoder converts the parallel data into serial format and transmits the data to the SSI 800/900. The SSI800/900 again for absolute professional encoders with SSI interface supports Binary- or Gray-Code converts the incoming data into a 16-bit data word and can read in either Gray-code which is internally converted to binary code or directly binary code and transmits it to the POSYS® 800/800-B/1800 or 900/1900 motion controller. Up to 4 axes can be connected. The data of each axis can be read x20.000 per sec. and are sent accordingly to the POSYS®.
