4.0 - INSTALLATION
4.1-PROFESSIONAL SAMPLER LOCATION (MILK RECEIVING). Location of Ihe sampler is very importarli for most accurate sampling results. It must be located and/or controlled to minimize the possibility of sampling from product standing (trapped) in a line.
4.1,2-The line where the sampler is to be located can be horizontal, vertical, or at any angle.
4.1.3-The location selected must mount the sampler body in a horizontal position with sufficient clearance beneath the unit for ease of bottle mounting and exchange.
Sample botties in sizes up to and including the !6 ounce (500cc) by 24mm thread size can be directly mounted to the sampler without interference on a vertical pipe
If large sample bottles are to be used, an offset adapter of appropriate sanitary design must be devised or obtained from Sentry Equipment Corp.
4.1.4-lf possible, choose a sampler location where the receiving line runs dry between pump-out of incoming tankers. This can be on either the suction or discharge side of the pump. On the suction side an adapter tee with clamp type professional fittings can often be installed between the flexible professional hose connection and the pump inlet; if this section runs dry between the loads.
4.1.5-On the discharge side many plants pump through a vertical line and past a check valve supplier into a receiving tank or silo. A location several teet up the vertical line and just before the check cock can be suitable. Here the volume of the line beyond the pump discharge acts as a reservoir and entrained air rises in the line against the check valve when a tanker is drained. Check carefully to see that no product stands static in front of the sampler
'-If no "dry" area can be determined, the sampler control must be turned on and off promptly as pumping is started and finished.
I-Regardless of the sampler location, most accurate samples will be taken where the sampler is started when flow begins (pump on) and stopped when flow stops.
4.2-CONTROL LOCATION. Mount the control on a wall, stand or other accessible location in a vertical position, preferably where it is out of direct exposure to water, steam, cleaning sprays or physical damage.
