5.4-FRONT ROD INDUSTRIAL SEAL REPLACEMENT. Ensure the front rod seal O-ring is replaced in the recess at the rear of the body before reassembly of the body over the plunger. Apply a thin film of dairy lubricanl to inside of O-ring. 5.5-RECIPROCATING SEAL REPLACEMENT. The O-ring piston seal can be replaced by pinching between thumb and forefinger and rolling old seal off. Roll new seal into groove, making sure it is well seated and not twisted. Apply a small quantity of an appropriate dairy lubricant to the seal. 5.6-HEAD. Slip head (with rear head seal O-fing in position) over plunger rod from the front end. Make sure end of head with hole for operating air is toward rear (piston end). 5.7-BARREL. Reassemble barrel over piston and plunger rod. A light coating of grease or dairy-lubricant wiped Into the barrel before reassembly is an aid In inserting piston. 5.7.1-CAUTION: Use slight rocking-twisting motion to start piston into barrel to avoid damaging piston seal. 5.7.2-Clamp barrel to head and tighten thumb-screw securely. Slide plunger in and out several times to ensure it is free. Movement should be stiff, but smooth. 5.S-BODY. Install front rod seal O-ring into recess before replacing body.
