About CMOSens

®

Technology

… accurate and reliable

With CMOSens
® sensors, all analog signal conditioning is per-formed on the same CMOS chip as the sensor element. (CMOS stands for Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor, which is the most commonly used standard technology for semiconduc- tor manufacturing.) This eliminates noise-susceptible wires and interconnections in the low-level analog signal path and ensures high reliability even under severe operating conditions. Example of a fully integrated CMOSens
® sensor chip for mass flow measurement

… intelligent

CMOSens
® sensors have integrated temperature sensors for precise temperature compensation. They also have additional on-chip intelligence to control the operation of the sensor ele- ment, support low-energy modes, and – if necessary – provide linearization and temperature compensation.
Actual size

… cost-effective

Sensors using CMOSens
® Technology benefit from standard, cost-optimized CMOS fabrication processes. A higher level of system integration also leads to reduced costs in comparison with conventional sensor systems. Hardly any other technology has developed as impressively as semiconductor technology has over the past decade. Costs have also dropped significantly, despite the fact that the performance of semiconductor technology has been enhanced many times over. Sensirion takes advantage of these trends to develop sen- sor systems that set new standards for precision, stability and cost reduction.
