| | | The filtercap SF1 provides IP67 protection for the humidity and temperature sensors SHT11 and SHT15 at low cost. It consists of a body, which totally encloses the sensor, and a filter membrane as an interface to the environment. The filter cap contains a permeable membrane that protects the sensor against water, dust and other contaminants while allowing humidity to penetrate. This feature is a critical factor in many contexts, especially in industrial environments. The actual cap also serves as an adaptor for mounting the sensor seamlessly into the product housing. Using a sealing ring, even a waterproof solution is achieved. When using humidity sensors with filters, response time usually slows down, since there is non-ventilated air volume.
