PS-113
Product Description
PS-113 innerseal is a thin gauge uniform polystyrene foam coated on one side with a specially formulated
torque-activated adhesive. This product exhibits a minimum of surface tack which minimizes roll
blocking and facilitates punching and insertion of the innerseal disc. When used with either metal or
plastic caps, and properly torqued, PS-113 provides excellent adhesion to glass and plastic containers.
PS-113 is simple to use, and although not designed to provide barrier properties, provides a degree of
moisture vapor barrier if properly sealed to the bottle. See Typical Physical Properties below.
Typical Applications
PS-113 innerseal has been designed primarily for packaging dry food and over-the-counter drug products
not requiring the innerseal to be the primary form of tamper evidence. Examples of products using PS-113
innerseal include vitamins, powdered laxatives and antacid tablets.

Regulatory Status: All components of PS-113 innerseal are regulated by the Food and Drug
Administration as indirect food additives under appropriate paragraphs of the Code of Federal
Regulations, Title 21. PS-113 innerseal is regulated under 21 CFR 177.1210, Closures With Sealing
Gaskets for Food Containers, for use with dry food solids only. Access to the Drug Master File and a
letter outlining specific FDA regulatory status is available on request. NOTE: FDA Compliance Policy
Guide; No 7132a.17; Chapter 32a, concerning Tamper-Resistant Packaging Requirements for Certain
Over-the-Counter (OTC) Human Drug Products, has been revised to state that Polystyrene foam container
mouth seals applied with pressure sensitive adhesive are no longer considered effective tamper-resistant
features.
Storage & Handling: Pressure sensitive innerseals in roll form, and prior to inserting into a closure, are
heat sensitive. Storage at elevated temperatures can result in difficulty of handling during the lining
process. It is suggested that PS113 innerseal be stored in a cool (Less than 60°F or 15°C)or refrigerated
