Text version of the page
Safe-Gard Type ATM SG-805 Product Description Safe-Gard 805 is designed to provide a strong seal by Induction Heat Sealing to polypropylene and polyethylene containers. The material separates to form an easily pierced membrane over the container neck and a wax impregnated reseal liner in the closure (Type A material). It is available in pre-cut disc and tape form. Typical Applications Safe-Gard 805 is used for sealing dry and multi-use wet products, but is not suitable for wet products which are acidic or alkaline in nature. Seal Composition Nominal Thickness Metric Standard Board 0.90 mm Wax/Adhesive Hatch Pattern Aluminium foil 0.030 mm Heat seal lacquer Composition Special Notation: The overall caliper is 1.00 mm. Typical Physical Properties: MVTR < 0.01 g/m2 24 hrs @ 38°C 90% RH (BS3177 1959) O2 Permeability < 0.01 cc/m2 24 hrs bar @ 23°C 50% RH (ASTM D-3985) Regulatory Status: All components meet the relevant FDA and BGA requirements. Further details can be supplied on request. Storage & Handling: Safe-Gard lining materials are heat sensitive, and therefore, transit or storage at elevated temperatures can result in the facing separating from the backing material. Safe-Gard 805 will withstand short term storage between 15°C and 50°C, but for extended storage it is recommended that Safe-Gard products and lined closures are stored between 15 - 30° and 40 - 60% relative humidity. Storage outside these limits increases the possibility of bowing, shrinking, curling or separation of the facing from the backing material. If materials are overheated or chilled during transit or storage, it is advisbale to store them in the recommended temperature and humidity range for at least 48 hours before processing further. Strict rotation is important and it is recommended that Safe-Gard materials are wadded, capped and sealed within 12 months of our dispatch/invoice date. Technical Data: All physical properties, statements and recommendations are either based on tests we believe to be reliable or on our experience, but they are not guaranteed. Product Use: User is responsible for determining whether the Unipac product is fit for a particular purpose and suitable for the user's application.
