Text version of the page
ALPHASEALTM Traditional Closure Aluminum ALPHASEAL Aluminum is a one-piece closure liner that is used in the packaging of a variety of non-acidic and non-alkaline products. Because of its inherent stain resistance and barrier properties, it can be used with many products that would affect other types of liners. Pulp and Aluminum is available laminated to 0.020", 0.030", or 0.035" pulp board. It can also be supplied with a waxed finish. COMPOSITION: NOMINAL THICKNESS Pulp board As specified Aluminum foil 0.0015" (0.038 mm) TYPICAL PHYSICAL PROPERTIES VALUE TEST METHOD MVTR (g/100 inē/24 hr) 0 ASTM F-1249-89 Oxygen Permeability (cc/100 inē/24hr) 0 ASTM D-3985 Colour (facing) Aluminum ------------------------- USES: Typical packaging applications include closure liners for chlorinated solvents, oils, deodorant, cleaners and polishes, hair wash liquids, insecticide emulsions, hair tonics, hydraulic brake fulid, shoe dyes, etc. FDA STATUS: All components of ALPHASEAL Aluminum closure liners are regulated by the food and Drug Administration as indirect food additives under appropriate paragraphs of the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21. Access to Drug Master File No. 11485 and a letter outlining specific FDA regulatory status is available on request. STORAGE AND HANDLING: Unipac recommends storage and processing at ambient conditions of 60-80°F and 40-60% relative humidity. Rolls should be stored on end and kept away from hot pipes and direct sunlight. Rolls should be acclimated for at least 48 hours to reach equilibrium with processing room conditions prior to lining caps. Failure to follow these recommendations increases the possibility of curling, blocking and dimensional changes. Unipac recommends that closure liner material be lined into caps within 60 days after receipt. Unipac recommends lined caps be used within (9) months after the caps are lined.
